to anyone who is a machinist?
im 23 and i just went on day shift in a small machine shop as an operator. i run mazak lathes and a vertical mill. would it be helpful to take fast track classes to learn setup and programing? i found a class in my area that is for 720.00 and its 72 hours of hands on training. are these classes helpful or is it better to learn from my supervisors in my shop? any suggestions on how to improve my skills to make more money?
I’ve been a CNC Machinist for 3 years now. It’s always good to have more experience. Were are you from? Usually this kind of stuff like setup and programing are either learned in school or as you go at work. In other words: The more setup and programing you’lle do the better you’lle get.
