any 1 hour or less easy Woodshop Projects for kids 8-15?
I am going to be teaching a woodshop class for kids age 8-15. They need to have projects that they can finish in a one hour time frame. I am hoping for projects they can build. I am not looking for projects that merely decorate or put pieces together like a model. Please if you know any resources for projects that can started and finished within 1 to 3 hours I would greatly appreciated.
Thanks
The Minwax website has a ton of free project plans online. You’d need to look at each of the “beginner” projects to figure out which might be do-able in an hour, but they’ve got a picture frame up there this year that might work. Some of their most recent plans are accessible by password only, but since you are teaching, they will give you the password if you call them. Their number is on their website.
American Woodworker magazine has offered many plans over the years. I don’t know if they have them up on their website, but it’s worth a look.
If you find a plan that’s close, but takes too long/is too intricate, you can edit it down. Take out certain ornamentation, for example, to bring it in under your time limit. Many teachers do that.
